At Pedicure Lab Kilkenny we do our best to provide you with the best pedicure services and information to keep your feet looking and feeling great.

Pedicures (when done correctly) are a great way to prevent ingrown toenails happening in the first place. However,  for people who do not regularly have pedicure treatments they can be a semi regular occurance which are painful and inconvenient. Here are 5 ways that you can help to avoid having ingrown toenails:

  1. Trim your toenails at home with clean, sharp nail clippers and manicure scissors. Trim them straight across, and avoid curving the nail too much.

  2. Wear shoes that don't crush your toes. You need to give your toes room to wiggle!

  3. Don't trim the nails too short. You should give them a few millimetres overhang so that they line up with the end of your toes.

  4. Avoid causing trauma to the nail. Stubbing your toes can occasionally lead to ingrown toenails forming

  5. See an experienced pedicure technician when getting a pedicure. Incorrect pedicure technique can lead to more harm than good! At Pedicure Lab Kilkenny we keep our practices up to date and technically perfect.

If you do find yourself with an ingrown toenail, don't panic! Make sure you don't attempt to fix it yourself as this may lead to infection and worse pain. Book into our Kilkenny Pedicure Lab for gentle treatment that will releive your symptoms and get your feet into wonderful condition.
